Merry Christmas

As this will most likely be my last post before the holidays, and possibly for the year, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Thank you all so much for reading my blog and leaving me such kind comments throughout the year. I wish you and yours all the best for this holiday season and look forward to more blogging in 2009. Happy Holidays!

Sweet Anabela

This is yet another CASED card from Kimmie - have I mentioned I was in a serious creative funk??? - and the image is another of the High Hopes Rubber Stamps that my friend Denise gave me for Christmas. I have been wanting "Sweet Anabela" since she was released - The Little Mermaid is my all-time favorite disney movie and I just thought she was adorable.

In any case, I coloured her using my SU markers and used my cuttlebug/divine swirls for the pretty blue water layer, (technically, it's turquoise). The DP was an amazing find on my trip to Maine in October - 10 sheets for $1! I added the photo corner and flower becuase I felt the card needed soemthing else - my DH laughed and said there wouldn't be flowers like that underwater (lol)!!

Dunno Ducky

This is another card I CASED from Kimmie at Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner while I was trying to get my creative juices flowing the other day. I used another one of my High Hopes images, "Dunno Ducky" along with his matching sentiment. I coloured the duck using my SU markers and free-handed the doodles. I used my cuttlebug/swiss dots folder for the top layer and the DP was another of those miraculous$0.25 a sheet finds from Michael's. The flowers were a fantabulous find from Bargain Harry's in Kentville; they were only $1.88 for 50 of them - needless to say, I bought lots (lol)!!

You Quack Me Up

I received a wonderful christmas present from my friend Denise this week; several unmounted stamps from High Hopes Rubber Stamps - one of my all-time favorite companies (Yippee)! The following card was made with one of my new images, "Wingin' It Duck" along with one of his matching sentiments. I coloured him using my SU markers and free-handed the doodles. The DP I got on sale at Michael's for $0.25 a sheet - a bargain I just couldn't pass up (lol)!

I CASED this card from Kimmie at Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner. I was in a bit of a funk a few days ago and needed some inspiration so, I went blog surfing as I always do in these moments. Well, I was scrolling through Kimmie's old posts and voila! mojo restored (lol)! Thanks for the inspiration Kimmie and I hope you don't mind that I "stole" a few of your ideas.

Snowburst

I needed a few last minute christmas cards so I made 10 of these simple cards using my SU "Snowburst" set. I actually CASED the card from one I received in last year's CST Holiday Card Exchange; the original was made by Linda Jones. Thanks Linda, for the inspiration!

Xmas Dog

**SIGH** The stocking is finally quilted and will be sewn together sometime next week, (my sewing savvy sister has to help me with that part - lol)! For those of you who asked, I will post a picture of it as soon as it is 100% complete. Thankfully, I no longer have the driving need to quilt every time Kiah lays down for a nap and was able to squeeze in some crafty time today instead.

I made this card in order to play along with this week's sketch challenge over at Friday Sketchers. I thought this dog was adorable and absolutely loved this sketch! The image itself, was given to me by my friend Denise from Designs By Denise so I have no idea what company he is from. I coloured him using my SU markers but used my various gellyroll pens to do the lights and added some stickles to his antlers in order to "bling" him up a bit. After endlessly combing through my DP and finidng nothing I was happy with, I decided to cuttlebug some pink paper with my snowflakes folder and use that instead. All in all, I was extremly happy with the end result and hope you all enjoy it too:)

RAK Madness

I was so excited to receive all these beautiful cards in my mailbox this week; mail is so much more exciting when it isn't all bills (lol). This first one is from Rendi Shays and says its for RAK Challenge #134. Not sure where the challenge was from but I greatly appreciated her thinking of me.

Surpriseabella

First, I apologize for not posting anything for so long. Things have been hectic around here and I have been working on a different craft project (GASP)! I decided I wanted to make a stocking for Kiah as a present for her first Christmas so I have been spending all my free time quilting it. Surprisingly, I've actually been enjoying it but, I can't wait until I can get back into my craftroom regularly. That being said, I managed to sneak 1/2 hour in there yesterday and created this card.

I made it in order to play along with the two following challenges:

1. Bella-riffic Friday: The theme for this week was to use "prezzies". I immediately thought of this beautiful bella - surpriseabella with hat - which I hadn't inked up in ages.
2.Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge (TECC45): These are always sketch challenges and I really wanted to play along with this one.

In any case, I was happy with the end result but added a sentiment to the bottom right-hand corner because I felt the card needed something else. The sentiment was too large to punch out with my SU word window punch so I cut it into a rectangle and used my SU Coluzzle to round the end. I was so proud of myself - these types of problem-solving ideas usually don't occur to me (LOL)!
