Hard Decision

After much deliberation, I have decided to stop blogging. It has been a long and hard decision to make because I have met some wonderful people through it. However, blogging has stopped being something I enjoy and feels like a second job instead. I feel pressured and rush to create something just so I can post it on my blog for everyone to see.

Since I have gone back to work, I have precious little time with my husband and daughter and I want to enjoy this time with them instead of worrying about the fact that I haven't posted on my blog for a few weeks. When I do get some much needed alone time in my craft room, I want to enjoy it and not feel pressured to produce things so I have something to post.

To all of you who encouraged me to start blogging - thank you - it has been a wonderful experience. To everyone who read my blog and left comments - thank you for being interested in what I made and had to say, it was greatly appreciated and really helped me gain confidence in my own creativity and skills.

I do not plan to delete my blog as I plan to use it for checking other people's blogs and keeping up with all my new blogging friends. Also, I put to much work into it to start over from scratch in a few years when I might want to get back into it, (lol). I may or may not post things if the mood strikes me but for all intents and purposes, I plan to take a fairly long break. Thank you again to everyone - I love you all!!

Another Hedgehog

Here's another card I made using the Penny Black hedgehog images that my friend Wendy sent me.

All the paper is SU except for the DP which I found at Michael's. I got the yellow stitch ribbon at Walmart and coloured my image using my SU markers. A very simple card but I thought it turned out well.

Munchkin Update

Here's a quick update as well as a few pictures of the munchkin since some of you have been asking. Kiah, turned 1 in July and took her first steps that same day. A week later she was running and has been keeping us on our toes ever since! I started back to work a week later and so far, so good. Kiah loves going to the babysitters and generally waves "bye" to me before I've even gotten her out of the car (lol)! Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy - the first two are from her birthday party:

These pictures were taken at Rainbow Haven Beach which is about 5 minutes away from where we live. This was Kiah's first trip to the beach and did she ever LOVE it. I imagine there are many more trips in our future (lol)!

These pictures are all from Victoria Park which is located in Truro, NS - about an hours drive from where we live:

Another PB Hedgehog

This card is made using another one of the adorable Penny Black images that my friend Wendy sent me. These guys are just too cute, (lol)!!

All the CS is from Stampin' Up, the DP is from Michael's and I did the scallop border along the bottom edge using a new border punch I also bought at Michael's. I coloured my image using my SU markers and used my SU photo corner punch to add a little something to it. The eyelets are from Kent and were attached using my new Silent Setter; the hemp twine is from Walmart.

I really wanted to try something different than the standard-sized half cardstock card so I decided to make this fit into a regular letter-sized envelope. I was quite pleased with the end result and will no doubt be making more of them.

Penny Black Hedgehogs

I got a bunch of these images from my friend Wendy, who I met through my friend Tracy from Tracy's Happy Place. I met Tracy several years ago through an online Yahoo group called CST (Canadian Stampers Talk). Incidentally, Tracy was instrumental in me finally giving blogging a try - I am admitedly addicted although having a 12-month old and being back to work hardly affords me enough time in the day to keep up with it.

In any case, I absolutely LOVE these hedgehogs but do not have any of my own. Wendy, kindly agreed to send me a few and when they arrived, I had a HUGE pile of them to color and cherish for my own - lol!!

The layout for this card was inspired by Lynn from The Queen's Scene. All the CS is from Stampin' Up, I used my Cuttlebug/Spots & Dots for the lower layer, the sentiment is from Stamping Bella and was cut out using my SU word window punch, my image was colored using my SU markers and then I used my SU tag corner punch for the edges and added some crystals to jazz it up a bit.
