Tagged

I have been tagged by Lynn at The Queen's Scene. If you've never visited Lynn's blog, you really should check it out as her artwork is fantastic. Now I'm supposed to list seven random things about myself, so here it goes:

1. I am 38 weeks pregnant and found out this week that I am already 5 cm dialated. So, we are playing the waiting game and waiting for contractions. My doctor is anticipating a relatively easy labour and I am keeping my fingers crossed that she is right!

2. I am a HUGE neat freak. My family is waiting in anticipation to see what happens when this baby arrives and I attempt to keep everything in its place while caring for a newborn (lol).

3. My favorite color is purple.

4. I am a complete chocolate and ice cream junkie and if I can have both together, I am in heaven!! This obsession has been magnified 100% during my 8th and 9th month of my pregnancy. Our freezer resembles an ice cream shop these days.

5. I am slowing learning how to cook and bake now that I am home 24/7. Surprisingly, I am actually enjoying it although I still hate using the BBQ.

6. My 2 cats are my babies and we pretty much treat them like people. I have gotten lots of comments that this will change now that we have a "real" baby on the way and one or two, have actually suggested that we think about getting rid of them (GASP)! Can you tell that some of these people just aren't pet people (lol).

7. I love to read and will re-read books endlessly. I am now re-reading the Harry Potter series for the umpteenth time. Some people think this is weird but I learn something new everytime.

Now it's my turn to tag 7 other bloggers:

1. Tracy from Tracy's Happy Place
2. Julie from Mutch To Stamp
3. Nancy from Nancy's Creative Mess
4. Ila from Artfully Ila
5. Kimmie from Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner
6. Jovita from Inky Impressions
7. Trina from Trina's Timeless Treasures

Kinibella

Quite obviously, I have been completly caught up in a "Stamping Bella mode" over the past few days as I managed to complete about 10 different cards in 2 days. Once again, I drew inspiration from Lynn at The Queen's Scence because I absolutely fell in love with the colors and sketches/layouts that she chose for some of her cards. I adapted slightly to account for different papers and such that I had but they are more or less shamlessly CASED from Lynn. Hopefully, Lynn doesn't mind that I "borrowed" some of her creativity to get mine going (lol!) as it is definately meant as a compliment to her style.

*Stamps: Stamping Bella "Kinibella"
*Ink: Versafine black onyx
*Paper: SU whisper white, certainly celery & pixie pink, orange & yellow (Michael's)
*DP: Open stock (Michael's)
*Accents: Pink grosgrain ribbon and crystal (Michael's)
*Accessories: Cuttlebug/spots and dots & SU markers

Golfafella

My brother-in-law's birthday is coming up and since he's quite the avid golfer, I thought this image would be perfect for his card; it also coincides nicely with the golfing related gift we bought him - lol! I CASED the sketch/layout from a card that Lynn at The Queen's Scene made but otherwise, came up with the rest myself. I tend to make all my cards in a fairly similar fashion and am trying to branch out by finding sketches/layouts that I like and applying them to my own creations. So far, this plan seems to be working.

*Stamps: Stamping Bella "Golfafella"
*Ink: Versafine black onyx
*Paper: SU whisper white, basic black, bashful blue, lavender lace, old olive & not quite navy
*DP: Open stock (Michael's)
*Accessories/Tools: SU markers & paper piercing tool

Fishafella

I CASED this card from a new blog I discovered called The Queen's Scene which I found through the Bellaholics Anonymous Yahoo online group I am a member of. I haven't played with my bella and fella images recently but browsing through Lynn's blog inspired me to dust them off and have a go at them again. I thought the colors Lynn chose were fantastic and absolutely perfect for a masculine card, (something I generally struggle with). Her artwork and creativity certainly got my creative juices flowing - lol!

*Stamps: Stamping Bella "Fishafella"
*Ink: Versafine black onyx
*Paper: SU whisper white, creamy caramel, chocolate chip & old olive
*DP: Open stock (Michael's)
*Accents: Hemp (Walmart) & yellow eyelet (Carousel)
*Accessories/Tools: Cuttlebug/spots and dots & SU markers

Surprise RAK

I wanted to share a picture of the beautiful surprise I got in my mailbox today. Tracy Houghton, a friend I met through CST & the blogging world, sent me this amazing handmade blanket and card for the baby. I am truly honoured to be the co-receipient of such a wonderful present and wanted to thank her from the bottom of my heart for the thoughtful gift. Thank you so much Tracy - from me, my husband and our little-baby-Weaver to be (LOL)!

Cuddles & Tickles

Throughout my pregnancy, we have been sending updates of what and how the baby is doing to our future godparents. These are probably the last cards we'll be sending as I am now 35 weeks pregnant and likely to have this baby any day now, (according to my doctor). I got the idea/sketch for these cards from Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner; she made the most adorable giftcards with cupcakes on them!

In case anyone is wondering, the sentiment was added by yours truly. I didn't have anything that seemed appropriate so I wrote the sentiment on there by hand. Yep, that is my hand writing - lol!

*Stamps: SU "Cuddles & Tickles"
*Ink: SU purely pomegranate
*Paper: SU whisper white, green & yellow bazzill (Carousel)
*DP: DCWV (Michael's)
*Accents: White & chocolate brads (Carousel)
*Accessories/Tools: Marvy MEGA circle and GIGA scalloped circle punch, SU markers (sentiment) & paper piercing tool

*This card measures 4 1/4 X 4 1/4

For You With Love

I colored this image a week or so ago using my prismacolor pencils and OMS. I used another one of my High Hopes Rubber Stamps (isn't this little boy the cutest???)and thought the SU sentiment was absolutely perfect for this image. I am thinking of using this card as a Father's Day card for my brother-in-law who is celebrating his very first Father's Day this month. What do you think?

*Paper: SU whisper white & close to cocoa, china red (Carousel)
*DP: DCWV (Michael's)
*Accents: Red brads and blue flower brad (Dollarama)
*Accessories/Tools: Prismacolor pencils, blending stumps, OMS & SU markers
